Photographer/videographer for a Masquerade Ball
Join Nocturne Gala in capturing the magic of the Celestial Winter Masquerade, an evening of historic dancing, elegant masks, celestial costumes, live music, and a ballroom transformed beneath the night sky. We are looking for a volunteer content creator to capture both our dance rehearsals and the main ball. Your work will help us preserve the evening and share the atmosphere of Nocturne Gala through our website and social media. What You’ll Do * Photograph guests, costumes, dancing, performances, and atmospheric details * Capture candid crowd moments as well as a selection of posed portraits * Film short vertical clips for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Stories * Capture some horizontal photos and video for our website and other promotional use * Work from our creative direction and mood board while contributing your own artistic eye The final number of edited photographs, video clips, and other deliverables will be discussed and agreed upon before the event. Who We’re Looking For You should be: * Comfortable photographing indoor events in low-light conditions * Experienced with moving subjects, crowds, candid moments, and portraits * Familiar with creating content for Instagram and other social platforms * Able to use your own phone/camera (we can provide flash equipment) * Reliable, communicative, and comfortable working within an established visual direction When applying, please share what your experience is with taking pictures and videos for socials. Event Details Celestial Winter Masquerade Friday, December 18, 2026 Scottish Cultural Centre, Vancouver Dance Rehearsals November 24 December 1 December 8 December 15 Each rehearsal is approximately two hours and takes place at Taylor Park Elementary in Burnaby. About Nocturne Gala Nocturne Gala creates beginner-friendly historic dance events around Vancouver, including costume balls, masquerades, dance workshops, and community gatherings.
