The Cochrane Food Bank Society is seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join its Board of Directors. With its designated charitable status, the Cochrane Food Bank Society is dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing food insecurity. Board members, staff and a large team of volunteers work to ensure that some of the most vulnerable members of our community have access to nutritious food, dignity, and hope. We are currently recruiting new board members who can contribute professional expertise, strategic insight and a commitment to community service. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in: 1. Community engagement and advocacy 2. Legal and governance 3. Financial management, accounting, or banking 4. Executive leadership and organizational management 5. Human resources or operational leadership Serving on the board is an opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of people experiencing hardship in our community. Board members play a vital role in guiding the organization’s mission, ensuring strong governance, supporting long-term sustainability, and helping expand our ability to serve those in need. This is more than a volunteer role — it is a chance to: 1. Strengthen equity, compassion, and resilience in our community 2. Support families and individuals facing food insecurity 3. Help shape the future of an essential community organization 4. Contribute professional skills toward meaningful social impact 5. Work alongside dedicated community leaders and volunteers Board members are expected to: 1. Act as ambassadors for the organization within the community 2. Attend monthly board meetings 3. Participate in committee work as appropriate 4. Provide strategic oversight and governance 5. Support fundraising and community awareness initiatives 6.
