Senior Support North Vancouver Island helps seniors live with dignity, connection, and well-being by providing practical and emotional support from dedicated, trained volunteers and staff.
Through our offices in Campbell River and Courtenay, seniors can receive a variety of services including friendly visits, transportation to medical appointments, assistance with grocery shopping and assistance connecting to and navigating other social supports.
Campbell River
Better at Home Program: Helps seniors remain independent and stay connected to their community. Dedicated, trained volunteers provide services that include Friendly Visiting, Transportation and Grocery Shopping coordination. Light Housekeeping and limited Transportation services are also available through contracted service providers.
Community Connector Program: Helps connect seniors to a wide variety of social services and supports.
Comox Valley
Friendly Visitor Program: Offers a weekly visit or phone call from a trained volunteer for seniors who are isolated and lonely. This program also encompasses hospital visits and coordinating delivery of library books.
Navigate: Helps seniors navigate various systems (internet applications, forms, phone calls, etc.), Community resources referral. Assistance with grocery shopping and delivery.
Caregiver Support Program: Provides monthly support groups for caregivers to have an opportunity to speak with, listen to, and support other caregivers.
