Campbell River’s Maritime Heritage Centre (MHC) is located on the waterfront facing Discovery Passage with expansive windows looking over the marine landscape it celebrates. Inside the building is the BCP 45 – a federally designated historic monument – a fully restored wooden seine vessel that played an important role in the social history of Indigenous commercial fishermen on the BC Coast. Around it is a collection of maritime exhibits, including artifacts on the past and present of underwater exploration.
