Movers & Drivers (Oakville, Milton, or Georgetown)

Ongoing
In a group of 2-6 volunteers, movers help pack and move a client’s belongings. Movers who have a valid driver’s license can additionally volunteer to drive the rented moving vehicles. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a big impact in a small amount of time. Each move is an average of ~4 hours, and you can sign up for moves as your schedule allows.

Moves can be scheduled 7 days a week, during the day and evening. Volunteer commitment is flexible.

Working as part of a team, you will:
-Assist clients in transitioning to their new life by helping move and store the client’s belongings
-Maintain communication with your team members
-Respect client confidentiality
-Work with law enforcement when necessary
-Uphold Shelter Movers’ protocols and procedures to ensure the health and safety of volunteers and clients
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Movers are key to our organization's work in helping survivors of gender-based violence. Movers make up the bulk of our volunteers, so you'll be in good company!
