Become a Youths Can Fish 2 charity Board Member and help youth living in poverty cast their dreams to sponsored week of summer Camp Fishn Around!  

Youths Can Fish 2 is a charity in Calgary since 2003. We work within communities to tackle the complex problem of poverty in Alberta.  In support of the charity's leadership, Youths Can Fish 2 charity is seeking passionate individuals over the age of 18 to join our board of directors.  The board members oversee the implementation of the strategic plan in pursuit of our vision and mission. 

Youths Can Fish 2 is welcoming applications however is particularly interested in adding Volunteer’s roles:
1. Event coordinators: leadership for annual charity fundraising event to include recruitment and management of volunteers.
2. Volunteer Coordinators: help manage volunteers, attend volunteer casino event. Lead volunteer appreciation. Assist and lead with committee/ad-hoc meetings for overall success with current events. Utilize online social media. 
3. Fundraiser volunteers: Obtain sponsorships and donations to fund the charity’s activities. Have a passion for fund development to include use of social median methods with a track record of success. Provide moral and professional support and be available as resource to the ED.
4. Casino volunteers: help recruit volunteers, volunteer at the casino along with other volunteers. Use of online scheduling is considered an asset. 

We are seeking individuals who are community-minded, dedicated and inclusion-focused:
	Have a passion for strengthening communities through building connections between generations.
	Are willing and able to contribute 4 to 6 hours a month of time and skill
	Have previous volunteer experience and a willingness to learn Board Member requirements.
	Are able to commit to monthly Board meetings and working committee meetings as needed. Actively participate in the development of the charity through attendance to events and board meetings to include preparation.
	Assist the Board in identifying and recruiting other Board Members and volunteers.
	Partnering with other board members to ensure that board resolutions are carried out.
	Serve as positive ambassadors for Youths Can Fish 2 charity and our work in the province.
	Keep up to date on developments in and affecting the non-profit sector including pertaining to poverty reduction.
	Ensure compliance with legal and ethical considerations. Maintain accountability and transparency.

Responsibilities and expectations include but not limited to:
• Periodical review of the charity's strategic and organizational plans, performance and programs.
• Development and promotion of programs, services and membership.
 • Serve on a minimum of one executive committee and undertake special assignments effectively.
• Contribute and adhere to policies and code of conduct
