The WRCA was established in February of 1967, and has operated continuously ever since within the terms of our License of Occupation granted by the City of Calgary (“the City”). We are governed by the Alberta Societies Act, our bylaws, and adhere to the City’s Public Use Policy. The City appoints a Neighbourhood Partnership Coordinator and a liaison from the Ward 11 Councillor’s Office to be a critical link between us and new developments in the City that are of relevance to our community.

Today, there are over 8,400 residents and over 200 businesses in the Willow Park and Maple Ridge neighbourhoods combined. Our community enjoys a sustainable influx of new residents and local businesses which provides a great mix of generational cohorts, increases the diversity of our growing population, and increases the convenience of living in our neighbourhoods.

A key priority of the WRCA is to provide our communities with great programs, events, and initiatives with the support of great facilities that can improve the community experience for all. Our grounds include soccer fields, basketball, tennis and pickleball courts, a multisport rink, and a community garden. These facilities have been recently upgraded through the hard work and dedication of our passionate board members, staff, and generous volunteers and donors.

We encourage volunteering for people to get together to help in areas of interest, passion, and community need. Our volunteers provide countless hours of support in various initiatives and get to network with others who share similar interests and want to make Willow Park and Maple Ridge a better place to live.

While the majority of our individual, family and business members are from the Willow Park and Maple Ridge areas, we also have members from the Acadia, Fairview, Lake Bonavista, Ogden, Riverbend, and Southwood neighbourhoods.

Our community is at the center of everything we do. We are living through challenging times and our focus is to rebuild the community experience for today and the future.
