The Western Canada Peer Training Society (WCPTS) invites you to share your financial expertise in service of something deeply meaningful. WCPTS is dedicated to nurturing peer support communities that foster resilience, inspire hope, and create belonging. Through specialized training, mentorship, and practice opportunities, we empower people with lived experience to support one another in building a more compassionate and connected world. As Treasurer of the Board, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding the financial health and integrity of our organization. Your leadership will ensure that our programs remain sustainable, transparent, and aligned with our mission to make peer support accessible and empowering across Western Canada. What You’ll Do ~Lead with care: Attend and contribute to Board and Executive meetings, and chair the Finance Committee with a collaborative spirit. ~Keep us grounded: Oversee financial management and recordkeeping, ensuring every dollar entrusted to us is stewarded with integrity. ~Bring clarity and confidence: Prepare clear, accurate financial statements and reports that guide the Board’s decisions and uphold public trust. ~Ensure accountability: Coordinate the annual audit process and maintain compliance with all financial standards and reporting requirements. ~Support shared vision: Work alongside a passionate team of Board members and staff who are united in their commitment to peer-led wellness. What You Bring ~Strong knowledge of financial management, bookkeeping, and budgeting. ~Experience with audits, reporting, and nonprofit or small-organization finances. ~Attention to detail balanced with a big-picture view of sustainability. ~A spirit of leadership, collaboration, and compassion for community service.
