We're Together Ending Poverty (WTEP) is a small diverse grassroots group if social justice activists who came together in 2008 in Calgary. Our mission is to educate and empower ourselves and others to take action on root causes of poverty. We welcome all who identify as women, trans, or non-binary,.

We believe that charity does not address the root causes of poverty and so focus our work on promoting policy changes that do: living wages, basic income, rent control, tax revenue reform, tenants rights, rent control and affordable housing.

We organize workshops and public forums, carry out campaigns with petitions and rallies, engage in art making projects (like videos and installations) and collaborate with other organizations.

Our current focuses are basic income and tenants rights.

We recognize the importance of diversity , lived experiences of poverty, intersectionality and anti-racism. We value education and learning, shared responsibilities and participation, social occasions and fun and laughter.

We meet the third Tuesday of every month, and work on projects in between. We raise our own funds although we have accessed project funding in the past. Please see our website for a fuller history and description of values and beliefs.
