Tax Preparer Volunteer - 2026 Tax Season

Join our Seniors Supports team as a Tax Preparer and help low-income clients receive accurate, optimized tax returns. In this role, you will prepare tax filings, ensure clients receive all eligible credits and benefits, and support seniors in navigating important financial documents during tax season.

Schedule & Time Commitment:

Shifts available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
February 23, 2026 – April 30, 2026


Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare tax returns for low-income individuals and seniors
- Optimize each client’s return to minimize tax owed and maximize refunds
- Review client income to determine eligibility for additional credits or benefits
- Use UFile software and Autofill to accurately complete returns
- Provide respectful, client-centered service to seniors throughout the process

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a tax preparer under the CVITP program preferred
- Experience using UFile and Autofill
- Experience working with senior clients preferred

- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear oral and written communication skills
- Strong deductive reasoning to identify eligible credits or deductions
- Excellent analytical and mathematical problem-solving skills
