Hope Market Groceries: Personal Shopper

#100 5115 17th Ave SE, Calgary, AB [map]
Ongoing
The Canadian Food Price report shows that groceries are estimated to cost
$1000 more for a family on average in 2026. Hope Market is a new initiative launching in January 2026 by The Salvation Army through our Community Resource Centre. Our goal is to provide free groceries to those who are in need.

The role of being a personal shoppers provides clients with assistance in choosing groceries that meet their needs and creating a dignified shopping experience. You will be directly working with clients from diverse backgrounds. This will require a friendly and patient attitude, as well as active listening.

Shifts:
Tuesdays: 3:00-7:00
Thursdays: 3:00-7:00

You can join us on a weekly, monthly, or as available basis.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Your role directly provides food to those who have to make difficult financial decisions
when it comes to their food supply. Providing assistance during the stores hours limits barriers and eliminates difficult choices that families have to make every day. The program also introduces clients to other classes and resources at our Community Resource Centre.
