Children's Program Helper

2-2 hours / weekly
One shift per week 9:30 am-11:30 am 
Are you fun, creative and love being around children? This is the perfect role for a volunteer who wants to help children explore, learn, discover and solve problems in imaginative and playful ways.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to assist the children’s program leader, helping children with games and crafts. You will also contribute to ensuring the environment is clean and safe for the children at all times. This is a chance to gain experience working with children while volunteering in a warm and friendly atmosphere. 

Tasks: 
-Working with parents and children (0-5 years old)
-Assisting the Child and Youth Facilitator with programing
-Setting up and tidying the room after the session

Days: Monday - Thursday, minimum one shift commitment per week
Time: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Additional Details & Skills Required
Regular Volunteers are required to complete the volunteer onboarding process which includes a Police Information Check, Intervention Record Check, reference checks, review of The Salvation Army policies and procedures, and abuse prevention training.
Certification or Education Required
First Aid is considered an asset
