The Clifton House Bistro Support Volunteer - assists in creating a welcoming and organized environment for residents, staff, and visitors within the Bistro. This role is open to individuals aged sixteen and older who are comfortable interacting with people, including senior residents. Experience with point-of-sale systems or cash handling is an asset; however, volunteers who are willing to learn will receive appropriate training. Volunteers support daily bistro operations by assisting customers with selecting items, maintaining cleanliness and organization, restocking products, and providing friendly engagement. Volunteers in this position handle cash and electronic payments as part of completing customer transactions and are expected to follow all established procedures to ensure accuracy and accountability. The volunteer is expected to commit to a consistent weekly schedule, attending at least one shift per week from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Maintaining a regular schedule supports smooth bistro operations and enhances the experience of residents and visitors who rely on this service. This role is suited for individuals who enjoy working in a social environment and supporting hospitality-focused activities.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteers gain hands-on customer-service experience, including point-of-sale operation and cash handling, while building communication and teamwork skills. They also form meaningful connections with residents and staff and contribute to a positive, welcoming environment. Training and ongoing support are provided to help volunteers feel confident and valued in their role.
