The Terry Fox Story When Terry Fox was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at 18, the experience ignited in him a fierce determination to bring an end to the suffering cancer causes. His personal experience and research led him to the conclusion that more money was needed for cancer research. And so, on April 12, 1980, Terry dipped his artificial leg in the Atlantic Ocean and proceeded to change the world. Position Summary: In support of the Terry Fox School Run, the Terry Fox Foundation provides motivational in-person school presentations. The role of this position includes travelling and presenting to schools participating in the Terry Fox School Run to help boost their fundraising efforts and kick off their event with a high energy, fun and inspiring presentation. Skill Requirements: • Able to deliver a high energy, engaging and fun presentation to students • Comfortable public speaking to large audiences of school age children and teachers • Computer and tech savvy/experienced in MS Office, specifically Outlook, Power Point, Google Calendar • Ability to prioritize and multi-task within a highly efficient team environment • Familiarity with the story of Terry Fox and a passion to support cancer research • Ability to work a flexible schedule in late August – October (during high season, early mornings may be required) • Self-motivated and resourceful Dates: August 25, 2025 – October 3, 2025
