Sunrise Healing Lodge Board of Directors

Sunrise Healing Lodge Society Board Chairperson Scott Reeves, is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving on the Sunrise Healing Lodge Society Board of Directors.

A public member shares with the Chair and other members of the board the responsibilities of: governing Sunrise; formulating policies enabling the board to make responsible decisions on fiscal matters; establishing the purpose and vision of the organization; and has a commitment to the financial and social well-being of Sunrise.

To be eligible, candidate shall be knowledgeable about addictions and recovery programs and shall themselves live a lifestyle free of additions and must do so for at least two years prior to becoming a member of the Board. Candidate should have a demonstrated interest in Sunrise, an understanding of Indigenous cultural teachings, financial matters; interpersonal abilities to deal effectively with other board members and a variety of interest groups; as well as demonstrated communication skills.

Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated strong community commitment and who have an awareness of issues affecting the field of addictions and governance experience or equivalent. Strategic planning experience and fundraising experience would also be considered an asset.

Appointment: A public member is appointed for a term of up to three years and may be reappointed for one further term of three years. There is no honorarium available with this position.
