Storytelling Alberta

Storytelling Alberta celebrates and promotes the oral storytelling tradition. In partnership with Calgary Seniors Resource Centre, our StoryShare program during the pandemic involves a storyteller delivering a story to a senior by phone and encouraging them to tell a story from their own life experience. A community volunteer is included in the conference call to check in with the senior about any immediate needs they might have, e.g. grocery and medication delivery, getting in touch with government officials, etc. From a list of resources provided to the volunteer and support from the StoryShare Administrator, they can connect the senior to resources that can meet their needs.
