Pride Parade Float Design & Decorating Help Needed
About Us Stonewall Recovery is Canada’s first 2SLGBTQIA+ addiction recovery centre. Our mission is to improve the lives of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals impacted by addiction through specialized, innovative treatment programs and enhanced community partnerships on a local and national level. Volunteer Opportunity We are looking for approximately five creative-minded individuals to help design and construct a float for Calgary's Pride Parade. If you are creative, into arts and crafts, and work well with a team, you will LOVE this project!! We have some basic ideas for the float and encourage any (relevant and feasible) additions and changes. I estimate that we’ll meet to work on it at least a couple times a week until the parade, which is on August 30th. We have a place to work on it in the Foothills Industrial Park in the SE off Glenmore Trail. Unfortunately public transit doesn’t stop near there, but there is ample parking and maybe some volunteers can arrange to carpool. Days and times are TBD; we’ll figure that out based on availability. Interested? If you would like to help make an uplifting impact on queer lives, please send an email to volunteers@stonewallrecovery.ca. Please include your name, pronouns, availability, and a brief explanation of why you would like to be involved in this event. We will be responding to all applicants.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteers will gain valuable teamwork skills, build some creative art skills, and meet some great people!
