First Steps Volunteer
When parents recognize their toddler is missing milestones that come easily to their peers, there are few supports prior to preschool that address developmental delays. Our First Steps program looks to fill that gap by providing classes for toddlers where they are introduced to activities and therapy. Volunteers are a key component of what makes this program successful for children and families. The group runs Monday-Friday 8:30 -11:00 a.m. We are looking for volunteers that can commit to at least 1 morning per week, for a minimum of 2 months. This opportunity is great experience for anyone interested in child development, family support or therapy. Volunteers will work directly with children alongside our First Steps team members and be exposed to techniques from a speech-language pathologist.
