Safety Council Member

STEM for the Future and FRC Capstone Robotics are seeking experienced and dedicated volunteers to join our Safety Council. This council will play an important role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and protection of everyone involved in our STEM education, robotics, and community initiatives.

The Safety Council will meet once a month to review current safety practices, identify potential risks, address reported concerns, and provide recommendations to help us continuously improve our safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Safety Meetings: Participate in monthly meetings to discuss safety concerns, review existing procedures, and develop recommendations for improving safety across STEM for the Future and FRC Capstone Robotics.

Incident and Report Review: Help review and address safety-related reports and concerns, recommend appropriate next steps, and support fair, confidential, and consistent handling of reported incidents.

Build Space Safety Inspections: Conduct periodic safety checks of our robotics build space to identify potential hazards, assess existing safety measures, and identify missing equipment, procedures, or safeguards. (If volunteering in person)

Policy and Procedure Development: Advise our organization on safety policies, reporting procedures, risk prevention, and appropriate responses to safety concerns.

Professional Guidance: Provide recommendations informed by relevant legal, law enforcement, safety, or risk management experience.

Continuous Improvement: Help establish a proactive safety culture that prioritizes prevention, accountability, and the well-being of students, volunteers, mentors, and other participants.

Who We're Looking For
We welcome applicants with professional or relevant experience in areas such as:

-Safeguarding, youth protection, or organizational governance
