Join us as Treasurer and become an executive member of the Southwood Community Association Board!

8-20 hours / monthly
Through to June 2025
We're looking for a Treasurer to join our board of directors! Much of this role can be done remotely from your own home (or any other comfy spot you like to work from). 

Executive board members are required to attend in-person monthly meetings at the Southwood Community Hall, 11 Sackville Drive, every third Thursday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. 

We're looking for a minimum commitment from the time of posting (April 2024) through to June 2025. 

Specific treasurer duties are:

Being one of the two required signing authorities.
Maintaining the financial records of the Association in accordance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Being responsible for all monies paid to the Association and for the deposit of same into appropriate bank accounts as may be required by the Executive.
Being responsible for discharging all debts of the Association.
Having care and custody of the financial records, deposit books and cheques of the Association
Presenting a full detailed account of receipts and disbursements to the Executive whenever requested, and to the Board of Directors monthly.
Ensuring the financial records of the Association are audited prior to every Annual General Meeting of the Association and being responsible for their presentation to the Association’s members,
Ensuring a signed copy of such financial statements are submitted to the Secretary of the Association and to the City of Calgary Parks and Recreation Department
Requesting from each Committee or Director, a budget of all operations under their direction, and
Preparing an Association annual budget, which includes individual budgets from the Directors’ portfolios, to be submitted and approved by the Executive and the Board of Directors.  Such budget will used as a guide for the ensuing year.
