Build your social media and marketing skills as Social Media Coordinator for the Southwood Community Association

4-8 hours / monthly
Just over one year - until June 2025
Looking to build your social media and marketing skills? In this role, you’ll develop content for multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram), write social copy, and create graphics that will catch community member’s eyes. You’ll also take an administrator role on our social accounts, making sure participants agree and adhere to group rules and taking action on flagged or inappropriate content. This is a fun and creative position where you can expect to build your writing and design skills, especially through use of our Canva Pro account! You’ll work with and report to the communications director to develop and execute on a content calendar, planning two to three weekly posts of community-related content.

This role can be done remotely. The Community Association holds board meetings every third Thursday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the community hall: 11 Sackville Drive SW. Meeting attendance is voluntary (but you may want to come out and meet the team!).

This role is perfect for: someone with existing social media experience, someone looking to grow or expand their social media skills and knowledge, or a student working towards a communications or marketing designation.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
You'll get to work with an exciting team of board members, connect neighbours from the local area, and make a difference in the community. Join us today and help expand all that Southwood has to offer!
