Quest Theatre Volunteer Board of Directors

Calgary, AB [map]
Ongoing
If you are passionate about supporting arts education and theatre for young audiences in Alberta, please consider serving on Quest Theatre’s Board.

“Quest Theatre Society” is incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta, as a not-for-profit and registered charitable organization. The Board of Directors is responsible to provide guidance and good governance over the affairs of the organization to deliver on its Mission and Vision.

Quest’s Board consists of up to twelve (12) dedicated volunteers guided by our Bylaws and Governance Manual. In 2021, with assistance from a recognized arts consulting team, we developed a new, three-year Strategic Plan. Each Board member serves on one or more of our four Committees: Governance, Finance, Advancement, and Strategy. We have a small administrative staff led by a management team of Artistic Director and Director of Business Operations.

The Board has a mix of long-serving and newer members. We strive to achieve a Board that has a variety of skill sets including Finance, Human Resources, Arts, Education, Law, and Fundraising. One of Quest Theatre’s three pillars is “Embrace Community”. We seek to be an organization that reflects our community and supports Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility.

Each board committee meets at least quarterly and the full board meets approximately 5-6 times a year. Board members often attend additional events (e.g. performances), fundraisers (e.g. casinos) or meetings as ambassadors and representatives of Quest Theatre. No board or theatre experience is necessary and there are training and support opportunities available for new board members.

If you are interested in joining our board and/or serving on a committee, please email admin@questtheatre.org with your contact details and we’ll be in touch. Please note that Board Members must be 18 years of age or older.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
No experience is necessary, but you will gain experience as a board/committee member in non-profit arts leadership and governance, plus get to attend fun events such as performances and receptions.
