Role and Responsibilities: -Seek, plan, and initiate fundraising opportunities to support the Society in collaboration with the Board of Directors. -Collaborate with the Board Chair and Treasurer to seek granting opportunities for the Society and assist in grant writing. -Support the promotion of Society Memberships, Sponsorships, and Partnerships with the Marketing & Outreach Team. -Develop relationships with major donors, identify new potential major donors and nurture relationships. -Lead fundraising projects, such as the annual silent auction, and manage volunteers for fundraising projects. -Source information, statistics, and trends to aid in fundraising efforts. Expectations of All Directors Attend all Board meetings, and a minimum of one advocacy meeting per year. Make and revise policies for managing and operating the Society. Maintain and protect the Society's assets and property. Provide feedback for the Society in all aspects, including effective governance, strategic planning, and other discussions during Board meetings or through email. Submit expenses as outlined within the Open Arms Expense Policy Provide training, guidance and management to their Co-Chair (if applicable) and/or committee. Prior to leaving OA, create or revise the Transition Document for their position, train their successor, and attend interviews for the position if necessary. Conduct affairs in an ethical manner. Act in the best interests of Open arms in a professional manner, ensuring they avoid conflicts of interest. If a conflict of interest arises, it should be discussed with the Chair of the Board of Directors.
