Neil Squire

The Neil Squire Society has been revolutionizing the lives of Canadians with disabilities since 1984 through accessible assistive technology. Our work is focused on four distinct areas: Innovation, Digital Literacy, Employment, and Assistive Technology. Our guiding vision at Neil Squire is to achieve economic and social inclusiveness for all people with disabilities.
To support this vision, Makers Making Change leverages the capacity of community based Makers, to develop and deliver affordable Open Source Assistive Technologies. Makers Making Change offers a platform for makers (engineers, hobbyists, students, corporations, etc.) to volunteer their time and skills to make an access solution from our device library. People with disabilities, their family members, or disability professionals can request a device online and collaborate with the maker to ensure devices meet their needs. This short video can help explain the program: What is Makers Making Change- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1z-3uZ3G60&list=PLhoPg9bDvBR5D69ATm_7FsSdiIODQfA6B&index=14&t=6s
