Leftovers Foundation - YEG

The Leftovers Foundation (Leftovers) is one of Canada’s largest food rescue charities with a mission of mobilizing community to decrease food waste and increase food access. Leftovers works with over 80 local restaurants, bakeries and grocers in Edmonton, Calgary, Hinton and Airdrie to ensure nutritious food is kept out of the landfill and instead upcycles and/or redirects food to over 60 service agencies and into the hands of those who need it most.

The food rescued and delivered helps service agencies either directly serve the community (e.g. via hamper programs) or reduce their annual grocery bills; alleviating stress and freeing up funds that can be reinvested in other vital support programs like housing, education, rehabilitation, and other essential social support programs. We envision a world where everyone does their part to reduce food waste.
