Inside Out Theatre is Calgary's disability arts  theatre company. 

In the middle of an thrilling period of growth and expansion we are hurtling towards achieving the vision of Calgary becoming the most accessible cultural community in Canada.

Our community programming now takes us to every corner of the city, we are partnering with major festivals to present cutting edge, professional disability theatre, and our new Good Host audience accessibility program will see thousands of Calgarians welcomed into Calgary theatre’s for the first time. We are looking for committed volunteers who share our belief that the arts are key to building a more inclusive and enriched city.

Position Description: Our Board of Directors give generously of their time and talents to provide governance and strategic leadership. They meet approximately 4 times per year in addition to sitting on at least one Board committee. Board terms are 2 years (renewable without limitation).

Board members oversee the company’s operations to ensure our mandate is being fulfilled, that we are fiscally responsible, and that we are seeking reasonable opportunities for growth. They also provide counsel on a variety of matters, such as artistic programming, management, communications, and fund development. They are an invaluable part of our team.

We value both the lived and professional experience of our Board members and are committed to fostering a board that reflects our community’s diversity of ability, gender, age, income, and ethnicity.

We are currently seeking candidates with experience in accounting and financial management, fundraising, board governance, and/or human resources. We are looking for individuals of all abilities who may or may not already have some Board experience and are comfortable with taking an Executive role if needed. The inexperienced will receive training and guidance.
