Receptionist Volunteer

Join our team as a Receptionist Volunteer and be the welcoming face of our organization! As a receptionist, you will help create a friendly and inclusive environment for individuals seeking support and information. This is an opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring that visitors, clients, and callers feel supported and connected to the resources they need.

The Independent Living Resource Centre Calgary was founded in 1985 by a group of dedicated volunteers. Our organization is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to live their lives to the fullest. We provide support, resources, and programs that help people achieve their level of independence, which means making decisions about their own lives, having control over their choices, and being able to participate fully in the community. Our services include workshops, peer support, mentorship, and more, all designed to help individuals build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. We believe in creating an inclusive world where everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to live independently and make choices that align with their personal goals and values.

Responsibilities: 
-Greet and assist visitors, clients, and callers in a professional and friendly manner.
-Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and provide general information about our services.
-Assist with scheduling appointments or meetings as needed.
-Maintain a clean, organized reception area.
-Perform basic administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and managing mail.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Friendly and approachable demeanor.
-Ability to multitask and handle a variety of tasks efficiently.
-Intermediate computer skills (familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel and similar programs).
