To help you explore the various ways you can get involved, we’d like to invite you to our New Volunteer Day on Thursday May 29th, starting at 9:30 AM, and extend our welcome to the rest of our 40th Anniversary Celebration events hosted May 26-30, 2025! Please RSVP by applying to this listing! The Independent Living Resource Centre Calgary was founded in 1985 by a group of dedicated volunteers. Our organization is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to live their lives to the fullest. We provide support, resources, and programs that help people achieve their level of independence, which means making decisions about their own lives, having control over their choices, and being able to participate fully in the community. Our services include workshops, peer support, mentorship, and more, all designed to help individuals build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. We believe in creating an inclusive world where everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to live independently and make choices that align with their personal goals and values. New Volunteer Day will: • Introduce you to our team and fellow new volunteers • Provide an overview of our mission, history, and programs • Offer insight into the range of volunteer roles available Event Details: Date: Thursday, May 29, 2025 Time: 9:30 AM Location: We are located in Unit #134, 3359 – 27th St NE, Calgary, T1Y 5E4. Our unit is in the west building at the end of the Parma Centre business complex. If you need an accessible entrance, our back entrance is ground-level with our programs room. Please let us know if you need any accommodations! Free parking is available in the parking lot and surrounding driveways. Skills & Qualifications: -No experience needed. -Just a positive attitude and a willingness to help! Please note: our hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and we do not offer volunteer opportunities outside of these hours except for events.
