Join us for an exciting and essential role in our Casino Fundraiser! This event is a major source of funding for our programs, supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving independence. Volunteers are needed to fill various positions during the event, and your contributions will directly impact our community’s growth and success. The Independent Living Resource Centre Calgary was founded in 1985 by a group of dedicated volunteers. Our organization is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to live their lives to the fullest. We provide support, resources, and programs that help people achieve their level of independence, which means making decisions about their own lives, having control over their choices, and being able to participate fully in the community. Our services include workshops, peer support, mentorship, and more, all designed to help individuals build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. We believe in creating an inclusive world where everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to live independently and make choices that align with their personal goals and values. Responsibilities: -Banker: Handle cash transactions, ensure accuracy in all transactions, and collaborate with other volunteers to attract funds and complete financial reports. -Cashier: Interact directly with casino players, manage cash and chip transactions, and provide excellent customer service. -Chip Runner: Deliver chips to casino games and ensure smooth, efficient play. -Sorter: Sort all chips and cash by denomination to maintain an organized system. -Counter: Count sorted chips, bills, and coins by denomination, ensuring accuracy for reporting. -Recorder: Record the number of bills, coins, and chips counted, ensuring all information is accurately logged for the event report. Skills & Qualifications: -No experience needed – training will be provided for each role. -Must be 18+ or older.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Time Commitment: Two-day event – Volunteers will be scheduled for shifts throughout the casino fundraiser event. Shifts are 11am-7pm, and 7pm - 3:30/4:00am.
