EVENT SUPPORT – IRD COFFEE CONNECTIONS (EDMONTON)
Location: ACT Aquatic and Recreation Centre (Lounge) – 2909 113 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5W 4S1 Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026 IRD Event Time: 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. MT (volunteers required from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.) ROLE OVERVIEW As a Coffee Connections Event Support Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and organized experience for attendees. This event is designed for individuals living with inherited retinal disease and their families, providing them with the opportunity to connect with others, share their experiences, and gain insights from field experts. Your responsibilities will include assisting with event logistics, providing guest support, and addressing accessibility needs. RESPONSIBILITIES •Greet attendees and provide directions within the venue. •Providing a sighted guide to guests with vision loss (training will be provided). •Help set up and maintain the refreshment area, ensuring items are stocked andaccessible. •Distribute event materials such as name tags, handouts, and registration lists. •Support seating arrangements and assist attendees in finding their designated areas. •Provide basic technical support if needed (e.g., helping attendees access digitalmaterials). •Assist with post-event cleanup and packing materials.
