EVENT SUPPORT – AMD COFFEE CONNECTIONS (EDMONTON)
Location: Mill Woods Senior and Multicultural Centre – 2610 Hewes Way NW, Edmonton, AB T6L 6W6 Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026 AMD Event Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. MT (volunteers required from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.) ROLE OVERVIEW As a Coffee Connections Event Support Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and organized experience for attendees. This event is designed for individuals living with age-related macular degeneration and their families, providing them with the opportunity to connect with others, share their experiences, and gain insights from field experts. Your responsibilities will include assisting with event logistics, providing guest support, and addressing accessibility needs. RESPONSIBILITES • Greet attendees and provide directions within the venue. • Providing a sighted guide to guests with vision loss (training will be provided). • Help set up and maintain the refreshment area, ensuring items are stocked and accessible. • Distribute event materials such as name tags, handouts, and registration lists. • Support seating arrangements and assist attendees in finding their designated areas. • Provide basic technical support if needed (e.g., helping attendees access digital materials). • Assist with post-event cleanup and packing materials.
