Fathering Peer Volunteer - Papa Bears Group Facilitator

Join us in giving back to the community through our Papa Bear Peer Program. We’re looking for those that identify as fathers/male caregivers the opportunity and support to participate in a safe, dynamic, friendly, and inclusive environments. 

As a volunteer, you will facilitate a drop-in and play group attended by fellow fathers and their children (ages 0-6) once a week for a three-hour period. You will engage fathers and their children in play-based activities and circle time using interactive songs, nursery rhymes and storytelling. This is your chance to make a real impact when families need it most—get involved today!

We’re seeking a dedicated Papa Bear Peer Volunteers to join our Families Matter Peer team.  This program has been thoughtfully designed to provide a safe and inclusive space for families. The program places a high priority on the power of play as a means of learning about child development, engaging in socialization opportunities and creating community connections. 

Here's what you can expect:

	Embrace and uphold the values and policies of Families Matter.
	Honorarium and mileage compensation for your time and travel.
	Facilitate a weekly drop-in Papa Bears group including assist in the set-up, take down
        and clean-up of programming. 
	Develop meaningful connections and supportive relationships with fathers in the
        group, providing guidance and sharing valuable insights on parenting.
	Identify family needs and potential resource connections based on those needs.
	Engage in on-going core training and professional development. 
	Flexible hours to accommodate different schedules, based on individual needs.
