Talent Acquisition Specialist (Remote/Unpaid Volunteer)

Join Empowered Futures as a Talent Acquisition Specialist and help shape the future for emerging adults as they transition into adulthood. We are a forward-thinking nonprofit committed to building confident, emotionally intelligent, and resourceful young adults through self-empowerment, mentorship, and community support. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll play a key role in full-cycle recruitment—sourcing and placing mission-aligned volunteers across EF departments. Your work will directly support EF Connect’s mission by ensuring our teams are equipped with the right talent and transitions are smooth and successful. Responsibilities: • Lead full-cycle recruitment, including intake, sourcing, screening, interviews, selection, orientation, and handoff • Facilitate intake meetings, kickoffs, and calibration sessions with hiring managers • Draft and update job descriptions and candidate profiles based on role insights • Use structured tools (e.g., scorecards, interview guides) to support consistent, equitable evaluation • Coordinate interviews, candidate communication, and offer/welcome emails • Partner with the Onboarding Specialist to ensure smooth candidate transitions • Lead post-interview debriefs and recommend process improvements • Maintain ATS records and suggest workflow enhancements • Share regular updates with the Talent Acquisition Lead and join team syncs • Attend weekly team and bi-weekly org-wide meetings • Actively pursue learning opportunities to strengthen recruitment expertise Qualifications: • 1–2 years of experience in recruitment, HR, or volunteer coordination • Education in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources is an asset • Familiarity with ATS tools (e.g., Dover, JazzHR, Notion, Airtable, or other platforms) and AI tools to augment tasks (e.g., Google Assistant or GPT4all) • Open to learning and adopting new technologies to support scalable hiring • Passion for youth development and purpose-driven volunteerism • Comfortable working independently in a remote team environment • Proficiency in Google Workspace • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills Benefits: • Empowering emerging adults with their growth and development • Innovating the movement towards mental wellness • Collaboration with multidisciplinary senior board members • Growing your professional network • Room for advancement and growth within the organization Join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young adults while shaping a brighter future for mental health and well-being.
