Court Volunteer

Calgary Courts Centre, 601 - 5 St SW, Calgary, AB, T2P 5P7 [map]

One year minimum
We are seeking volunteers to help us assist adults and youth appearing in court in Calgary. This is a highly specialized opportunity and we seek individuals who are capable of committing to one weekly shift for a minimum of a year.

Court Volunteer - Lobby: Assist individuals in the main lobby of the Calgary Courts Centre with legal information, plea options, and resources on various matters (e.g. criminal, traffic & bylaw, etc).

Court Volunteer - Youth Court: Assist youth on the court floor with legal information on processes and protocol, and with access to legal counsel and other resources.

Court Volunteer - Adult Criminal Case Management Office (CMO): support individuals appearing at the CMO counter for adult criminal appearances with with legal information, plea options, and resources.

Court Volunteer - Domestic Violence Court: Triage individuals through their legal processes by providing appropriate information on court processes and procedures, and connecting to appropriate partners for legal support.

Court Volunteer - Indigenous Court: Support Indigenous clients appearing at the Calgary Indigenous Court with information on procedures, protocol, and resources.
