CUPS - Campaign Outreach Support

-
Navigate Complexities. Create Change. Together.

This is our purpose at CUPS. Our unique integrated approach to care empowers people to work holistically to create and achieve goals that support their well-being and builds readiness to navigate and access support in the community. As a formative presence, we work together to build better systems and a stronger community.
Clients depend on us, supporters trust us, and partners count on our collaboration. We do not take this responsibility lightly – we are accountable for our words, our actions, our relationships, and most importantly, ourselves. Through a compassionate lens, we afford every person dignity in their interactions with us. We proactively seek opportunities for continuous learning with open minds and transformative spirits. Through our culture, rooted in our values, we will achieve our purpose and ambition.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help promote our seasonal wreath fundraiser in the community. Each year, we pre-sell fresh wreaths, with orders available for pickup or delivery during the first week of December.

This is an independent volunteer role. You will manage your own schedule and choose when you complete your outreach based on your availability.

What You’ll Do:

- Go door-to-door in an assigned area to introduce the wreath fundraiser.
- Share basic information about the wreaths, pricing, and how to order.
- Direct interested residents to our website to place their orders online.
- Ask businesses and community spaces for permission to display promotional posters.
- Keep track of the areas you have visited and provide a brief update to the campaign team.
- Represent the fundraiser in a friendly and respectful manner.
Note: You will not collect orders or payments at the door. All orders are placed directly by customers through our website.

Your Commitment:

The outreach campaign runs from October 15 to November 12.

We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week, or at least 12 hours total over the weeks they commit to volunteering

Volunteers will also be asked to:

- Attend a scheduled group information/orientation session in person before starting.
- Join one virtual check-in per week during the weeks you are volunteering.
- Manage your own outreach schedule and time.
- Provide your own transportation to and around your outreach area.
- Follow safety guidelines and respect residents’ wishes.

Choosing Your Outreach Area:

We have a list of recommended outreach areas where we hope to reach our target audience, primarily in southwest and northwest Calgary. The list will be shared with you so you can select your preferred area to cover.

Police Information Check:

Because this role involves independent, door-to-door outreach in the community, volunteers will need to provide a Police Information Check (PIC) before beginning.

The cost of the check is the volunteer’s responsibility.

If you already have a current Police Information Check, you can provide a copy instead.

What We Provide:

- In-person volunteer information/orientation session
- Wreath pricing, product information and online ordering information
- Promotional materials
No previous fundraising or door-to-door experience is required.

Interested?

If this opportunity sounds like a good fit for you, please email volunteers@cupscalgary.com with the subject line "Wreath Outreach Volunteers " to express your interest.

In your email, please let us know:

- Whether you are available to volunteer throughout the outreach period, from October 15 to November 12
- Approximately how many hours you would be able to volunteer
- Whether you have a police information check completed within the past year, or would be willing to obtain one

We’ll review the information and follow up with next steps
