Exhibition Volunteers: Ghazaleh Avarzamani

701 11st SW, Calgary, AB, T2P2C4 [map]
6-8 hours / weekly
-
Churn, Earn, Burn and then Return comprises a new immersive installation by Iranian-Canadian artist Ghazaleh Avarzamani developed site-specifically for Contemporary Calgary's Ring Gallery. Avarzamani's complex installations and sculptures investigate the insidious ways in which our social and political realities are constructed and manipulated.

What will your role involve?
As an Exhibition Volunteer, you will play a key role in enhancing the visitor experience. You will assist visitors by engaging them in conversations about the artworks, helping them connect with the exhibition, and answering general questions. Your responsibilities will also include offering friendly guidance—such as clarifying which works are interactive and which are for viewing only—ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and providing support as needed throughout the space.

What are the requirements?
We ask for volunteers to commit to at least one shift per week from June through November. Shifts are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12-7 PM, and Sundays from 12-5 PM.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please submit your interest here by May 17th, 2026: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd8onS4xMSj95sY4kMTPVuSmbtk1L9QwM2HDRWdWXpa9BdDnA/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=115813473346874241466

We will be unable to accept any applications after May 17th.
