Since starting in mid 2021, the Checkmate Foundation Canada has done countless free chess lessons for children through community programs. We hope to create an integrative environment for youth to explore their interest or hobby, particularly chess. We also believe that chess can provide a lot of cognitive and emotional support for individuals who may face mental illnesses or want to improve their problem solving skills. Outside of our lessons, we are doing charity tournaments where we use entry fees and donate them to a charity in Calgary.
