Volunteer Sewing Instructor
We are seeking Volunteer Sewing Instructors to support our Sewing Classes for Women program. This welcoming and inclusive space helps women learn basic sewing skills, practice English, meet new friends, and build confidence through creativity and connection. Volunteer instructors will guide participants through beginner-friendly sewing activities while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Volunteer Responsibilities - Teach basic sewing skills and simple sewing projects - Demonstrate safe use of sewing tools and equipment - Support participants with hands-on guidance and encouragement - Foster opportunities for conversation and English practice - Help create a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere - Assist with class setup and cleanup as needed Qualifications - Experience with basic sewing and sewing machines - Comfortable teaching beginner-level sewing skills - Patient, friendly, and encouraging communication style - Passion for community involvement and supporting women’s empowerment - Experience working with diverse communities is an asset
Certification or Education Required
A sewing certification or formal training is considered an asset, but is not required.
