Parent Child Learning Centre Volunteer

Volunteers in this program assist the program staff in providing care to infants and children ages newborn to 5 years old. Volunteers hold babies, rock babies, provide comfort, play with infants and occasionally may feed babies. Volunteers interacting with older children will be expected to keep them safely engaged with various educational and recreational play activities.

Volunteers must be comfortable with and capable of picking up and holding babies and toddlers, as well as sitting on the floor to engage and play. Patience, creativity, and a love for children are essential qualities. Volunteers will be gentle and nurturing, always respecting the wishes/instructions of staff and/or the baby’s parents. Reliability, good communication skills, and an ability to maintain personal boundaries are required for this volunteer role.

**NOTE we require both the PIC and IRC checks to be returned before starting.**

An orientation to Kindred, to Louise Dean Centre, and to the Parent Child Learning Centre will be 
provided.
