Recruiting Adult Volunteer Outdoor Leaders (18+) - WILD Outside Program Calgary / Edmonton / Lethbridge

WILD Outside is a fun and educational extracurricular national program for youth aged 13-18 to get outside, be hands on and develop a deep connection with nature. We are currently seeking volunteer team leaders and assistants to support the delivery of the program in Calgary, Alberta. About the role: Volunteer Team Leaders and assistants collaborate with youth and other volunteers to plan, deliver, and engage participants in outdoor adventures and service projects in their community. Experience facilitating youth programs or outdoor programming is an asset. Under the support and guidance of the CWF Regional Lead, Volunteer Team Leaders and assistants will: -Plan and facilitate events, outdoor activities, and conservation service projects -Work with and coordinate other volunteers in the execution of the program -Participate in service projects and outdoor activities alongside participants and Volunteer Team Assistants -Supervise youth program participants -Assess and manage risks -Purchase and store approved program supplies (paid for by CWF) -Report and log events and incidents with the CWF Regional Lead -Monitor, track, and report results of the delivery of the program -Be a role model for youth and lead by example -Create a safe environment in which participants feel comfortable to be themselves Volunteer Team Leaders must: -Be able to commit to 1 year of volunteering and delivery of 1-2 events per month for a minimum of 2 hours each. Events are typically on evenings and weekends, with program planning being completed outside this time. -Have a valid Standard First Aid & CPR certification or higher, or be willing to complete at own expense -Provide a recent criminal record check -Have reliable transportation to and from event sites -Maintain reliable and regular electronic communication with Regional Lead and participants -Have access to a computer and internet -Have good judgement, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills If you are interested in learning more about the WILD Outside program and volunteering, please email Ashley at AshleyI@cwf-fcf.org.
