Do you have just a couple of hours a week to give back to your community? Join CNIB’s Vision Mate program and make a real difference in the life of someone with sight loss or partially sighted right here in Edmonton. We’re currently looking for a caring, creative, and reliable volunteer to spend time with a CNIB participant who is passionate about the arts and enjoys gentle activities in their residence. About the Client: This individual is an artist with a love for: Clay work, spinning and weaving wool. Playing classic card games like Kings in the Corner, Rummy, and Chess (you don’t need to be an expert just enthusiastic!). Participating in chair exercises and light indoor activities. Enjoying casual conversation, music, and shared creativity. This opportunity is perfect for someone who: Enjoys arts and crafts or is curious about fiber arts. Likes a calm, engaging environment with meaningful one-on-one connection. Is friendly, patient, and empathetic. Can commit to about 2 hours a week at a mutually convenient time. As a Vision Mate, You’ll: Visit weekly in the client’s residence in Edmonton or agreed location. Share stories, games, and creative time together Provide companionship that helps build confidence and connection
