Vision mate (for companionship and shopping) in Vergeville

Are you based in Vegreville and looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Do you have a couple of hours to spare during the week? The CNIB Vision Mate program could be the perfect fit! 

As a CNIB Vision Mate, you’ll provide friendly companionship and practical support to someone with vision loss or partially sighted right in your own community. This is a one-on-one, community-based volunteer opportunity where your time can have a lasting impact. 

We’re currently looking for a volunteer to support a CNIB client in Vegreville whose goals include going shopping, picking up items, and reading labels. Your help could make everyday tasks easier and far more enjoyable for this individual. 

Who you are: 

A friendly, kind, and empathetic individual with a couple of hours to spare each week. 

Reliable and open to learning about the experiences of others. 

What you’ll do: 

Meet with a CNIB client once a week for about 2 hours at a mutually convenient time. 

Assist with outings such as grocery shopping, reading product labels, and picking up items. 

Provide friendly conversation and companionship while supporting greater independence.
