Are you located in Sherwood Park and looking for a way to give back to your community? Do you have just a couple of hours to spare each week? The CNIB Vision Mate program is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact in the life of someone with vision loss or is partially blind. As a Vision Mate, you’ll be matched one-on-one with a CNIB client in your area. You’ll provide friendly companionship and practical support that helps them stay connected, confident, and independent. Our clients in Sherwood Park have a variety of needs and interests, including: Going for walks or socializing. Organizing household items. Reading mail or printed materials. Enjoying conversation, music, or audiobooks. Running simple errands or attending local events. Who you are: Friendly, patient, and empathetic Dependable, with about 2 hours available per week Open to learning and supporting someone’s unique life experience Like being outside in nature. What you’ll do: Visit weekly at a time that works for both of you Share meaningful moments and assist with everyday tasks Help reduce isolation and support greater independence
