Are you based in the Cold Lake area and looking for a way to give back to your community? Do you have a couple of hours to spare during the week? The CNIB Vision Mate program may be the perfect opportunity for you! We are currently recruiting a volunteer in Cold Lake to support a gentleman with vision loss who would appreciate a helping hand with reading printed materials and grocery shopping. If you enjoy connecting with others, lending a hand, and making everyday tasks a little easier for someone, this could be a great fit for you. Who You Are: Friendly, kind, and empathetic Reliable, with a couple of hours available each week Open and willing to learn about the experiences of people living with sight loss What You Will Do: Visit once a week at a mutually convenient time Assist with reading items such as mail, product labels, or documents Accompany the individual on grocery shopping trips or help with preparing a shopping list Share friendly conversation and offer encouragement Accompany to the bank once in a while.
