Become a CNIB Vision Mate - Volunteer needed in Okotoks, AB
CNIB is in need of a Vision Mate volunteer in Oktoks, AB to provide one-to-one support to a gentleman with vision loss. - Time commitment: 1-2 hours per week (or every second week) - Availability: Weekday evenings or weekends - Role overview: A Vision Mate provides one-to-one support to an individual who is blind or partially sighted. Activities can include: - Support in community: Exploring the local area, attending community events, grocery shopping, or running errands. - Support in home: Reading mail or paperwork, home organization, and other sighted assistance. - Companionship: Engaging in conversation, recreational activities, and providing friendly companionship. No experience is required! Training will be provided, and all you need is a friendly, compassionate attitude and good interpersonal skills.
