Are you someone who enjoys getting out and about, exploring your city, and connecting with others? You could make a meaningful impact in the life of a community member with sight loss right here in Edmonton.

We’re looking for a friendly, dependable volunteer to support a CNIB participant who’s eager to enjoy more of what the city has to offer. This individual is outgoing and independent but needs a little extra help navigating the world safely and confidently.

Together, you might:

Go shopping or run errands

Take walks or attend community events

Use DATS or public transit together

Enjoy conversation, companionship, and shared experiences

This opportunity is perfect for someone who:

Is kind, communicative, and supportive

Can provide gentle guidance as a sighted guide

Is comfortable using transit or DATS

Can commit to 1–2 hours per week on a flexible schedule

As a Vision Mate, you’ll:

Accompany a client on outings and activities

Offer sighted guidance and support with navigation

Help build confidence, independence, and community connection
