Canadian Blood Services Youth Ambassador

2 hours / weekly
Flexible
The CBS Calgary Youth Committee is a group of students who are united under a mandate of recruiting and retaining blood donors in association with Canadian Blood Services. In light of the pandemic, our committee has shifted our focus from in-person community outreach to digital recruitment.

Volunteers will help reach out to various organizations and sign up interested individuals for blood donations. There is also an opportunity to participate in group donations with your fellow volunteers. You will also be expected to attend committee meetings every other Wednesday evening at 6PM through Zoom.

The CYC hopes to continue promoting blood donations virtually and foster a social environment for volunteers to connect with one another. We are looking for high school and university students who are keen, responsible, and passionate to join our team.
Additional Details & Skills Required
New volunteers will attend an information session on Zoom in substitution of in-person training.

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Cancer patients, transplant recipients, accident victims. For these people and so many more, a timely transfusion of blood can be the lifesaving difference.

Half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who needs it. The need is constant. Play your part by supporting Canada's lifeline.
