Volunteer Opportunity – Camp Quality Alberta (August 1–7, 2026) Location: Alberta (Camp location shared with selected applicants) Camp Quality Canada is a volunteer-driven national charity that provides free, medically supported camp experiences and year-round programs for children and teens living with cancer and rare blood-borne disorders. Camp Quality Alberta is currently recruiting volunteers for our 2026 summer camp, taking place August 1–7. Our camp offers children facing significant medical challenges the opportunity to experience what every child deserves: laughter, independence, friendship, and the simple joy of being a kid. Volunteers are the foundation of that experience. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– The Role Camp volunteers are paired closely with campers and work as part of a highly structured, team-based environment. Responsibilities include: • Supporting campers in daily activities and programs • Assisting with recreational activities and team challenges • Encouraging participation and inclusion • Helping maintain a safe, respectful, and positive camp culture • Collaborating with medical staff and leadership teams No prior medical experience is required. Comprehensive orientation and training are provided. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Who We’re Looking For We are seeking individuals who are: • Responsible and dependable • Emotionally mature and patient • Team-oriented and adaptable • Comfortable working in a structured environment • Committed to maintaining appropriate professional boundaries Experience working with children, youth, healthcare settings, or community programs is considered an asset but is not required. All volunteers must successfully complete the application process, including screening procedures and background checks, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our campers. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Why Volunteer? • Make a meaningful impact in the lives of resilient young people • Develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills • Gain experience in a medically supported camp setting • Join a supportive, mission-driven community • Receive formal verification of volunteer hours if required Many of our volunteers return year after year because of the powerful sense of purpose and connection camp creates. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Time Commitment Camp runs August 1–7, 2026. Volunteers are expected to commit to the full camp week, including pre-camp orientation. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Interested? • If you are ready to contribute your time, energy, and compassion to an experience that truly matters, we encourage you to apply.
