Calgary Association of the Deaf

Our diverse Deaf community includes the Deaf Youth and Seniors, DeafBlind, Deaf individuals with additional disabilities, and immigrants/refugees. Due to communication barriers experienced by our Deaf community daily, CAD is always striving to have its activities and support services accessible to them in the primary language of American Sign Language (ASL).
In addition, CAD collaborates with our affiliated associations of the Deaf at the local and provincial levels to bring our Deaf community and their families together through the special events, conferences, workshops, sporting events, and fundraisers.
Mission Statement
The primary purpose of the Calgary Association of the Deaf is to protect and promote the rights, needs, and concerns of Deaf Calgarians while endeavoring to improve the quality of life for Deaf people in general.
Vision Statement
We are working towards accessible programs and services for the Deaf, Late-Deafened, DeafBlind and Deaf with multiple disabilities in the working language of American Sign Language.
