Visitor with pet for residents in care
Ongoing
Bethany Care Society has locations across central and southern Alberta, including Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Didsbury, Airdrie, and three in Calgary (NE, NW, and SE). Each site welcomes caring volunteers who enjoy connecting with and supporting seniors. Volunteers with pets bring joy and comfort to residents through friendly visits, offering the calming and uplifting presence that only animals can provide. These moments help brighten days, ease loneliness, and improve overall well-being. The Volunteer Coordinator and Care Team are there to offer support and guidance along the way. PLEASE NOTE: Bethany Care Society uses an external application process. To apply, select "Apply Now", scroll down, and select "Proceed to Application Process". You will be redirected to our website.

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
You can choose a schedule that works best for you, and after completing at least 40 hours, you can ask for a reference letter. While spending time with residents and staff, you’ll strengthen your observation, communication, and people skills. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a future in health care or human services, those who enjoy connecting with different generations, or anyone who simply wants to make a positive difference in their community.
